APPLICATIONS FOR INTERSHIPS 2014 ARE NOW CLOSED
CSAG invites young graduates to apply to intern for a year at the Climate System Analysis Group based at the University of Cape Town. The intern will work with key research staff within existing projects and towards proposals and new contract work within the unit. This opportunity is great for those looking for hands on experience in research.
Candidates should be interested in one or more of the following themes;
• Climate modelling
• Atmospheric processes
• Communicating climate information
• Data dissemination
• Stakeholder/user engagement
The internship will provide an incredible opportunity to work on the frontiers of science with researchers involved in a variety of exciting projects. The internship is thus an amazing experiential stepping-stone for further post-graduate studies. Placement will be for the period January – December 2014
There are two internship positions available for 2014.
To apply please complete our online application form by no later than the 9th November 2013. The positions are open to all qualified candidates who are South African citizens. The candidates should achieve at least a lower second in EGS3012S and reasonable results in other courses. Please note that CSAG and UCT reserve the right to give preference to those from a previously disadvantaged background or not fill the position.

I saw a version of this advert that appealed particularly to students from MAM, PHY and EGS. I thought this was a good idea, though I wondered whether it would not also be useful to try and attract Statistics students as well?
