In this piece of work CSAG was contracted to provide climate change projections information to inform ESKOM’s long term planning strategy with regards to electricity generation. A particular focus was on the identification of suitable locations for generation stations with specific thresholds of water and cooling requirements. Both downscaled projections and GCM based circulation fields were combined to provide multiple lines of evidence, and hence draw more robust information to the decision making process.
