Djanna Koubodana Houteta

Post-Doctoral Researcher

Djanna Koubodana Houteta is a postdoctoral researcher at the Climate System Analysis Group (CSAG) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research project focuses on developing actionable climate change information for urban management, particularly at the intersection of climate change, water, and waste in South African cities. Previously, he was an AIMS-Canada postdoctoral researcher at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Rwanda, contributing to the Mathematical Science for Climate Resilience program. Djanna holds a Ph.D. in Climate Change and Water Resources from WASCAL (University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin) in collaboration with the University of Bonn (Germany). He also earned a master’s in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Paul Sabatier of Toulouse III (France) and a bachelor’s in applied physics from the University of Lomé (Togo). His expertise includes climate science, impact evaluation, climate information services for key sectors (agriculture, water, energy, and infrastructure), hydrological modeling, river basin management, disaster risk reduction, climate prediction, and uncertainty quantification.
