Pathways to transformative climate adaptation in southern African cities: CSAG is to lead and develop the Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessment in the identified regions for this project, namely Manyara and Singida (Mainland Tanzania), and Pemba Kaskazini (Zanzibar). To enhance climate-resilient agro-ecological systems, this component will support the vulnerability and climate change analysis in addition to the adaptation assessment. The primary objectives are to develop a baseline assessment, undertake basic climate change vulnerability and risk mapping for both current and future crop and livestock production in Singida, Manyara and Pemba Kaskazini, and lastly conduct a value-chain specific adaptation assessment. Under the adaptation assessment, the sub-consultant will be required to support the development of potential adaptation options to address the risks of current and future climate change projections. As the lead on Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation, the sub consultant will also offer support to the development of the climate rationale and baseline scenario for the full GCF proposal.
