Regional Climate Models

Overview

Regional Climate Models (RCM) are a downscaling tool.  RCMs are used to simulate a regional climate at typically higher spatial resolutions than a Global Climate Model.  As such RCMs are intended to capture more spatial detail in the climate system as a result of finer scale features such as mountains, coastlines, vegetation and water bodies.
