Anna Steynor
Alumni
Anna has led the climate service team at the Climate System Analysis Group (University of Cape Town) since 2011, and has worked in the field of climate services since 2005. Her academic background includes physical climate science and extensive experience in the integration of climate information in decision making at multiple levels in Southern Africa and the United Kingdom, which positions her perfectly to drive forward the climate services intellectual frontier at CSAG. In her role as lead of the climate services team, Anna spearheads the intellectual direction of research and practice in this field. She also acts as the liaison between CSAG and other key international researchers and funders. Anna’s particular research interests lie in transdisciplinary co-production of climate services, the psychology of climate information use and what constitutes decision-relevant climate information. Anna holds an MSc in Climate Science from the University of Cape Town (2005) and is currently pursuing a PhD in the field of climate services.
